Figaro has scarcely finished her education in parisian private schools of Art when she first step onto stages of Fashion shows cabaret, theatre and television. Her paths have crossed those of the most famous fashion designers.
At the same time, she’s been introduced in the musical world, as singer-songwriter, produced by Malcolm McLaren (Sex Pistols). She followed Jimmy Cliff on tours among others... While Tecla, growing near Turin, fled the most infamous Culinary Art schools of Piedmont and jumped onto the stage of the italian squats thanks to his gift of drummer. Laurel Aitken, Mad Professor and Massive Attack were the firsts to open him routes to the great peaks.
Once upon a time, Friday 29 June 2007, Tecla and Figaro met at a Parisian cabaret... a few hours later, not counting nights, they start record their first track, then their second and third... By the fifth track, a few weeks later, they realise that an album is under way...
A few moons later, during the première of feature film "Jenny Bel Air" in the Elysée Biarritz in Paris, they delivered their performance debut. A few mornings later, an Electro Vintage sound had found its scenic color and dreamlike decor. Figaro de Montmartre is born.
The songs of Serge Gainsbourg, Colette Renard, Claude Nougaro, Josephine Baker and the poetry of Aimé Césaire, within a world of sound inspired by Augustus Pablo, Lee Perry, Roni Size, Massive Attack and Mad Professor, who work on the track ‘Tout près d’ici’. Tuesday 24 March 2009, Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis Studio (Prodigy, Squarepusher) gave the final touch to the album.
The album ‘Place à la nuit’ (Long live the night!) of Figaro de Montmartre, 99% French in text and 1% Italian, propels the duo through the scenes of Bristol, Brighton, London, Turin, Genoa, Cannes, Paris. Live in concert, Figaro plays the theremin and has fun with the SP404 sampler, while Tecla dances with his keyboard. Together, their voices and sensual music touch the depths of the soul.
November 2010, Figaro de Montmartre becomes the first Electro group who crosses the doors of the Temple of Reggae, Harry J studio, Kingston, Jamaica, where Figaro and Tecla produce some tracks like 'Natural' with the special participation of U-Roy, posing for the first time in his career on Electro music.
February 2011, they are welcome in Martinica, French West Indies, where they perform in different clubs and festivals until that they find new deals, flying to Canada, where venues quickly become packed as word-a-mouth, thanks to the Electro vintage sound of Figaro de Montmartre.
After this great Canadian awareness, they move back to Paris, Montmartre, the 27th December 2013. They put slowly together all the pieces of the musical puzzle, surrounded by painters and street artists. They get residence in a small mythical cabaret in Pigalle called 'Noctambule' to produce events, mixing live painting with live music.
Wednesday 20 May 2015, they realise a collector vinyl called GOOD VIBES (ToolBox, One Nation) eventually. Thanks to that one, they receive a clear message from UK: ‘You have to come here and play at the summer festivals’.
From 2016, they joint the line-up of different Uk festivals like Secret Garden Party, Glastonbury…among others, where the crowd is growing quickly.
In January 2019, after several tours, crossing the paths of strangest entities, among healers, scientists, alchemists, bourgeois and travellers, they get based in the Devon and they achieve the idea to create a new Lifestyle brand also called Figaro de Montmartre. They find a new way to sell music, getting out of algorithms once and for all.
Always closer to the highest vibration, mixing painting, music , crystals and natural ingredients, they are now creating precious tools that nourish the body and purifies the consciousness to meet the expectations of a demanding and modern customer base.
